What's new in this new version?

This new X.2 version includes innovations which are in line with all the major developments of MAC X, and notably, simplified fusion of individuals for improved handling of all your data, and iApps® integration for optimizing your work.

Recovery of your data using iApps®
You will increase your productivity with HEREDIS Mac X.2: your media, your individuals and your events are from now on available anywhere on your Mac.

Your genealogy in your hand No longer will you have to move around with your heavy folder under your arm. With HEREDIS Mac X.2, it is now with your Palm™ that you will consult the list of individuals in your file. A simple export to your address book, then synchronize with your Palm™ and off you go. Your events organized with iCal® ”On this day, my great great grandfather got his first job as a cloth cutter”. Remind yourself every day of the lives of your ancestors. HEREDIS Mac X.2 allows you to export all your file events direct to your iCal® calendar. On the given day, iCal® will thus recall the event by displaying the relevant information.

Direct link between iPhoto® and the pictures stored with HEREDIS Things are stirring with your media! With HEREDIS Mac X.2 you make a simple “Drag and drop” with iPhoto® to insert any media in HEREDIS. And this, into any media zone: individual, union, event, source, place, surname, archive deposit.... You have just transferred the pictures of the birth of your grand-daughter to iPhoto® and you want to update your genealogy file? Simply drag the required picture to the Media tab of the Birth event...

Intelligent management of duplicates
HEREDIS Mac X.2 offers a function which will allow you to display either two potential duplicates, or to search for all potential duplicates according to the criteria which you will have defined. Once you have checked them out, you may then decide to merge the two proven duplicates.

A clear and precise merging screen
The information concerning the two selected individuals are displayed in two columns: individual A to the left, individual B to the right. All available information is included : unions, sources, images, witnesses, user fields...

Information to be retained in the merger is shown in green and that to be deleted in pink color. You may select what information is to be retained by clicking on the + or - symbols for each item of information concerning the individuals A and B.

All links concerning the merged individual will be automatically updated: parents, spouse, children, witnesses or any other linked individuals.

Navigation record
In the same way as your Internet navigator, the HEREDIS Mac X.2 button bar allows you to navigate around all the individuals who have previously been displayed as the Primary person. This extremely practical tool allows you to move at all speed around all the various individuals you are working on in any session.

Navigation buttons: You may move with all ease between the various individuals by using the Previous individual or Next individual buttons at the extreme left of the button bar.

New designed family trees

It is one of the many small pleasures of the genealogist to present the family branch on quality paper in a family tree showing all the portraits. HEREDIS Mac X.2 integrates threenew so-called "Designed family trees", over 4 or 5 generations. They will bring an accessible quality of presentation for the pleasure of all your family.

Export of all the different lists
What use is there for a list if it is not to be filed? HEREDIS Mac X.2 now offers the option of export of your lists in tabulated text format, thus allowing you to open the file direct with Excel®. Now your genealogy is displayed with the Sosa numbers in column “A”, names and given names in column “B”,…

Not to forget also all the various personal statistical applications which now become available.

Simple criteria
The most obvious way to instigate duplicate detection is to base it on given names or events and you can apply them to your genealogy file. It is possible to limit the search to bearers of any specified surname.

Selection made easy
In the result window, individuals with one or more possible duplicates are displayed in the left column. Select an individual and the corresponding potential duplicates appear in the right column. A summary of information concerning each person appears below the name. It is then up to you to decide if the duplicates are proven: you may the either delete one of the duplicates or merge the information.

Work sheet for your personal searches
The work sheets now include a new tab Search. You will find displayed on this new tab all the work done with the Multi-criteria Search.

You no longer need to switch from one window to another for navigating among the different individuals or couples which have been identified by a Multi-criteria Search, for they are now displayed on the main screen. A simple click will display them as the Primary Person of a new Immediate family or Union data screen.

Improvements to the navigation trees
The dynamic family tree page gets an extra generation
To help with navigation, the dynamic family tree now displays five generations of ancestors of the Primary person. It is now therefore a 6 generation family tree.

The 3D Family Tree improved
Navigation is now more fluid and the given names and surnames of individuals may now be read on the tree boxes themselves.
